With presidential and parliamentary elections ahead, Moldova faces a period of instability. Many analysts believe that Moscow is considering armed intervention because of its role as a transport corridor which supports Ukraine with military hardware and the pro-European advances made by the liberal government. Wedged in between Ukraine, the Black Sea and Romania and with Russian troops on its own territory, the country‘s geopolitical situation is certainly precarious.
Moldova’s international environment is reflected in public opinion, which generally has been split along an East-West divide. In order to identify relevant opinion clusters and patterns, ICEUR has sponsored a survey which will be presented by the panel.
